This opportunity is available for anyone that is US-based who is interested, whether or not you have travel experience. If you are new to the industry, our entry level program will provide you will the training and tools to allow you to earn commissions from day one.
Simply contact us at info@travwala.com or (571)318-9252 to express your interest and for more information. One of our representatives will contact you and go over the entire program in full.
Start with the people you know that travel. Look at the networks and groups that you currently belong to. Relatives, friends, associates, social, or church groups could be an excellent way to start your travel business. When you join, we can also provide you with many other ideas. Let everyone you know that you are getting into the travel business.
At this time, we do not currently provide leads. There are companies out there that do provide leads. However, in our epxerience, the best leads come from working with those people that you already know as well as getting referrals from families and friends. A strong network will be your best opportunity to create leads.
You work from your own home or from anywhere you choose. Most travel agents are now home-based. Many traditional professional jobs allow you to work from home, too.
A quiet, comfortable workspace, a computer with internet access and a telephone is all you need. As your job requires you to provide professional travel services to clients, your workspace should be free from distractions so that you can concentrate on providing the best possible service to your clients. Clients should not have to listen to children playing or crying in the background, dogs barking, birds chirping, or any other non-work environment sounds.
Since you are an independent outside agent, you can put as little time or as much time into this as you would like. Whether you want to work part-time or full-time, the choice is entirely up to you. Since it is commission-based, it makes a perfect part-time job as you build up your client base and allows you to work around a current job.
Again, this is entirely up to you. Commissions can range from $100 up to several thousand dollars. The more clients you book on vacations, the more you will earn. Some travel agents actually earn a six-figure income!
While it is true that there are still free and discounted trips available for travel agents, many of the perks now go to those that produce sales for the vendor. As you gain more sales, you may be afforded more opportunies to partake in trips and FAMs, some of which may even be free!
Believe it or not, the big online web sites have actually been losing business to traditional travel agents in the past several years. People want to know who they are speaking to and they want to know that the person has additional knowledge and experience with the travel product they are buying. Not only that, but through our partnership with vendors like Vacation.com, we are able to offer proprietary experiences and products that aren't offered anywhere else!
The start-up fees, forms, licensing, and other costs could be thousands of dollars. Several states require you to obtain a Seller of Travel license to sell travel, even if you aren't a resident of that state. The time to learn and develop the contacts would take you many months. Also, you would be working on much lower commission level. When you work with us, you can start at a higher commission level with many vendors.
